The Source is what binds us to our community, what we have in common.
It is a set of beliefs, values, resources, commodities and traditions. It includes what we agree on as a necessity and choose to share, so we can connect, live together, find common ground in our disagreements.
The source is available, we may or not connect to it and draw from it, we may misuse it. The source doesn't move or flee. It may fluctuate and get blocked, not because it doesn't output but because our access to it may be challenged. When we move away from the source, it doesn't follow, it stays there where we can find it.
(God doesn't move away from me, I move away from God)
With all the unknowing we face - the uncertainties, the illusions, the lies - we are bound to feel lost and powerless.
If we are open to what life teaches us, we gather that there is no amount of work, strength and knowing that would put us in control, and when we finally surrender to the flow of the universe, we start to grow into a participant in life.
Our connection to the source is contingent on maintenance of our spiritual condition - Every connection is contingent on continuous care.
When we draw consistently on a connection without clearing the channel, communicating, returning care, the source dries up, the influx clogs, the attraction fades away, and we loose the clarity that makes the worth of that connection.
At that point, a cleansing is warranted, and a sure way to restore the flow.
Respect and use as intended is how we draw value from what is on offer.
When we neglect, misuse and take for granted resources that support us, our well-being or comfort, we not only miss out on the present, we also damage our future.
Embracing the worth of what we have and caring for it cultivates abundance, sustainability and is the mark of an orderly life.
By way of habit, hearsay or simply error, we carry over truth as if it can only last. All things change, including people, what is available to us, what is good for us.
Clarity requires renewal of vision, choosing to try and test things again every now and then. Do we know for sure? Do we know first hand? How do those who know know?
There is no merit in rejecting our present on the basis of someone else's past.
No one is asking us to settle for unhealthy relationships with ourself, our loved ones, or the world at large.
When we identify inadequacy, our task is to do what is in our power to clear the flow, the backlog, the debt, the damage and enable healthier workings.
We don’t dictate what will come from the other side, but we definitely can keep our side clean, clear and welcoming.
When the message is clear, the sustenance nourishing, and the direction benevolent, time can still test our patience and our trust.
We don’t know until the miracle has happened that we are on the right track, not for sure, not unless we’ve lost the will to be reasonable.
Faith sometimes looks delusional, especially when the desired outcome looks doomed but giving up makes no sense. If not the one we hope for, there is magic waiting to happen here.
What shields us from harm also cuts us from love.
The intention to guard and protect has its place, but as a posture by default, it really just impedes our ability to navigate the current; It numbs sensations, delays response time, blurs connections, muffles our subtlety and burdens our back.
The more vulnerable stance frees us to respond and adapt, whether to bask in the moment, or to nimbly pull away, it shows us just how resilient and ready we are to face life.
