Insight

Truth can be blinding

The Situation

Truth is right here for the taking, at all times.

When we look but can't see what seems to be right in front of us, it is because we already know the truth as information, in our mental space, but we haven't connected to it emotionally, physically or consciously.

Our inner truth underlies our actions; this happens whether or not we are aware of what we really believe deep down. When our core beliefs are warped by our heritage, our experience, or our inexperience, we still act by them, likely to unloving ends.

Un-warping this root connection to our spirit calls for an exploration of those depths, gaining insight into the shadows, the secret vaults, the guarded realms of our consciousness.

We need to go in, explore those thoughts of ours that are still rhetorical and wonder whether we actually believe them; if they resonate, if we are willing to stand up for them. We need to bring those beliefs into the light, were they can grow into right action, and connect us to the world.

Changing Lines

No Changing Line

The ultimate point of our personal journey is for us to connect to our own worth, our gifts, the greatness we are to give to the world.

When these are revealed to us, we still need to choose to play our cards, shine, step up to the plate and contribute to our community, play our part, find our place, and thereby access the infinite abundance of the mysterious whole we belong to.

Line 1 - KNOW OF EXPERIENCE

Choosing to do nothing out of confusion only means embracing powerlessness. It is passive, maybe lazy, certainly fearful.

In taking action, simply in trying, we gain new perspective, information and direction, learning experience, a knowing of what make our heart sing.

Insight is not acquired in sensory deprivation and inaction, it is acquired in curious engagement with our universe, inner and outer.

Line 2 - FIND YOUR LIGHT

We don’t quite open a door and find our self after a handshake.

Rather we tip toe, get lost, crumble and pick our self up and eventually, if we’ve kept walking, we stumble onto our self, and click into a standing position with our feet on the ground and our brightness on offer.

Self-awareness, knowing what sits right and what harms us, is the fastest route, however windy.

Luckily, it’s also scenic, open view onto the glory of our inner world, and by the time we let go of fear, we are already illuminating our domain.

Line 3 - NO RIGHT OR WRONG

Feelings and desires all have meaning, worth, a purpose. We want to think some are better than others, more appropriate or more lively, but all that comes from our judgement is pain.

When we assess our life as if we know, all we find is that we are failing, because nothing is absolute enough, complete or predictably stable enough that we can count on it being true.

The best we can is always being present and available to the task, feelings and circumstances at hand. When we refuse to buy into the instant definitions and get real about what this is, we are truly living.

Line 4 - ACTION THE INSIGHT

Epiphanies, however shiny, come and go. Those moment when deep clarity lands for us those things we’d seen as cliches until now, are fleeting.

An insight is not the point, we do not live for the purpose of understanding. We do however, have understanding as a tool to better enjoy life.

When we bask in the glory and wisdom and insight and fail to seek applications or means to pass it on, we pass on an opportunity to better connect with the creation.

Line 5 - THE PAIN OF FREEWILL

At the root of all insights is the intricate, layered, confusing power of freewill we as humans are tasked to embrace.

Freewill means we can choose to connect to life / God / the Creation, or not. Then it teaches how to belong through pain and joy.

The catharsis in this realisation is a gateway to another type of pain, healing pain, that releases us from the fearful loneliness and delusion that freewill makes us separate from the Creation.

Line 6 - SOLVE THE RIGHT PROBLEM

As we achieve enough clarity, we see the root of the problem; we know where we can and cannot make a different choice, what can and cannot change.

We can offer a truce, alternatives, forgiveness, cut our losses or extract ourselves from a situation.

The point is that discernment enables right action, choices that are not governed by fear or vengeance but by our own truth and focus what matters to us.
